Costuming

Image
This white button shirt and black pants will be worn by Kristian. This was chosen as it is not fully professional or casual, as he will play the piano (prop). This act will be done backstage, therefore his hair will be casual as he is in a carefree environment, not preforming in front of anyone.          This grey business suit with a briefcase (prop) will be worn by John. This is meant to represent a professional man. This is backed up by a gelled hair. This is meant to depict an average worker. The briefcase also implies that he is not currently at work, either leaving or entering his job. This gives a sense of seriousness and professionality, with the colors being bland.          I will be wearing the blanch trench coat and fedora hat. This was meant to hide the persons personality, making him a mystery to the audience. The color black on the costume is meant to represent darkness and the unknown....

Preparing to Film

We have decided that Kristian will be the editor, camera man, and the actor of the man who plays the piano. Elizabeth will be the voice over. John will be the actor of the business man. I will be the actor who plays the role of the mysterious man. The piano man's role takes place at the back of the school stage wearing wearing a white button down with black pants  with the piano as a prop. A problem we have though is that we can't find a good time to record there without disturbances. The business man and mysterious man take place in a parking lot of an office. One problem is that we do not know where and when we will record that part, just that it will happen when its dark out. The costume for John (business man) is a business suit with a briefcase as a prop. I (the mysterious man) will have a trench coat and fedora hat as my costume. The script is finished, but we are having disagreements over the lines for the voiceover. For recording, we w...

Moodboard for Opening Sequence

Image
The first part with the piano is meant to seem odd and out of place. Playing a piano in the backlines of the stage gives a sense of isolation and peace. This is a big contrast to the other part in which the dark area, mysterious man, and bullet holes in the car (which is red) set a dramatic and mysterious mood. The scene is meant to illustrate drama having audience questioning who this mysterious, menacing character is. I have chosen this mood to give the audience tension between what is occurring, creating suspense and hooks the audience onto watching the scene.

Dare to Thrill         The video is run by handheld camera movements, usually when it shows the group. This can make the audience feel involved in the scene. There is a ton of close ups with quick straight cuts to show the action and thrill of the car ride. The low lighting properly matched the late night mood. The words' style and font seemed out of place and random. The sound and music perfectly fit the mood of what was happening. Mumbled dialogue occurred when the group was walking together. There was action music when they were driving the car. During the car drive, they used dolly shots to follow the car, as well as pans, handhelds, and static shots. They properly ended the scene with an insert cut of the trunk, leaving the audience in suspense and wanting to "continue" watching. Overall, the scene was well made. Always Watching           The video shows the main character's urge to stalk his best friend. The scene uses ...
