Here is the first cut of our opening scene (yes there is no sound)

EDITING 2

Image
These are pictures showing the process of recording the rest of our scenes This picture shows Elizabeth doing her voice over      As you can see from the images above, we finished getting all the elements, except for the music, and is ready to be edited.     The image above shows the screen of our editor, Kristian, editing a scene. He is currently changing the lighting, making it more orange, not too bright yet not dark either. As I said in a previous blog, me and John offered the idea of having the font for the title sequence to be 'playfair display'. Kristian agrees and will be using that font for the title sequence. As for sound, there is no sound that has been added yet, but we do have the voice over ready. So far, our editor spent around two or three hours editing. Now that we got basically everything, he will start to truly edit it all.

Editing 1

Our editor is Kristian Bowers. At the moment, we do not have much of the recordings ready to be edited. We plan to record on the 26th of February, but for now we brainstorm what we believe should be in the scene. For the font, we believe the font 'playfair display' fits best with its professional and sharp look, mirroring the business attire and seriousness of the scene. The colors would either be black, one of the general colors found in the film and the basic color used by professionals on paper, or dark maroon, symbolizing/foreshadowing the blood and violence that awaits. So far, we plan to add a grey, or dark, tint effect to the film, to again symbolize the seriousness of the scene. We don't know much of which special transitions to use, but Kristian will definitely add a lot of straight cuts. For audio effects, we are using the diegetic sound effect of footsteps and a gunshot. Music will also be played in the background, a piece made by Kristian himself. A problem Kr...

Filming Process Instructions

Image
Our group began filming two weeks ago. It was a struggle but we managed to get the school's auditorium all to ourselves to record. The lighting was dark but in certain moments we used our phones' flashlight. For this scene, I was the camera man.          For this picture, I was filming the piano. At first it was empty until our actor, Kristian, walks from behind me to reveal himself to the scene. He walks to the piano. Despite the light you see, the lighting is dark, creating that sense of mystery as he walks in. This was further emphasized with the camera being low, not allowing the audience to see Kristian's face.          In this picture, I am filming Kristian playing the piano. I am at a position that does not show his face. This was part of multiple clips that show Kristian playing the piano. Here as you can see, a light was used.          Here, I was showing the pian...

Challenges in Film

During our film process, we experienced and are still experiencing many issues. We are all dependent upon each other and if one is not caught up then we are all held back. We are experiencing issues finding the right time to film as our schedules are distinguished from each others. We are trying to solve this by planning ahead. Another issue we face is where to record said film. We still cannot find a parking lot of an office building in which we can all go to. We will also have a short time to record as it will be during sundown. We plan on roaming through google maps to find the right place then we will schedule a time to record. We also plan to include an original piano piece. To record said piece I have to bring my keyboard and we do not know where to meet up to make it. Also it is harder to know that I cannot bring the keyboard wherever. I plan to just bring it a day I happen to hangout with them.
